- 24Km to the World Heritage Property of Bru na Boinne – Newgrange, Ireland’s richest archaeological landscape built circa 3200BC
- 39Km to the Hill of Tara which has been important since the late Stone Age, when a passage tomb was built there, St Patrick himself even went there in the fifth century
- 53Km to Carlingford Castle a Norman citadel built around 1190
